DesignEuropa Awards in Ljubljana
O n September 22, Ljubljana hosted the 10th anniversary DesignEuropa Awards ceremony, organised by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The event was a tribute to design that combines innovation, aesthetic value, sustainability, and functionality.
The event was attended by high-ranking representatives of the EUIPO and SIPO, as well as the President of the Republic of Slovenia. Two moments in particular left a lasting impression on us:
- Lifetime Achievement Award to Philippe Starck—for decades of creative work that have significantly shaped the way we live and view everyday objects
- Industry Award to NOHRD for its StepTower product—an excellent example of how good design is not just a matter of appearance, but a thoughtful synergy between form, functionality, and user experience
We are pleased to see that the Slovenian product Pet Shell, from Pet Shellter d.o.o., was among the nominees in the Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses category. This is an innovative pet house that reduces noise to create a quiet and safe space for rest.
The DesignEuropa Awards recognise outstanding achievements in design across four categories: entrepreneurs and small companies, industry, next generation designs, and lifetime achievement.
This year's awards ceremony once again demonstrated the important role that design plays in fostering innovation, competitiveness, and the creation of solutions that improve our daily lives.
